Who actually issues the train ticket?
Tickets are sourced through our local China Railway authorised partners. ChinaHighSpeedTrain.com acts as the English-language booking interface, handling your purchase and passing the order to our licensed ticketing partners in China who issue the physical or e-ticket.
Is this an official China Railway website?
No. We are an independent third-party booking service. China Railway's official booking portal (12306.cn) is Chinese-only and requires a Chinese ID or specific foreign passport verification steps that many travellers find difficult. We simplify that process for international visitors.
What countries can I book from?
Anyone worldwide with an international credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) can book through us. Your passport is used for ticket identity verification on the train — no Chinese documents needed.
Can I get a refund if my plans change?
Yes. China Railway allows refunds and date changes before departure, subject to a cancellation fee that varies by how far in advance you cancel. Contact us and we will handle the refund process with the railway on your behalf.
How do I collect my ticket?
For most routes you will receive an e-ticket PDF. On some routes a physical ticket must be collected at the station ticket window using your passport. We will tell you exactly what to do for your specific journey in the confirmation email.
